Beloved friend, the heart of God is a giving heart. Life Principle 23 declares that you can never outgive God. He is the One who loves to give blessings, and when we give, He multiplies the grace so that we always have all sufficiency for every good work. Giving is not a loss; it is participation in the nature of God. Let us open the Scriptures and learn.

The Principle of Generosity

God is the greatest Giver. He gave His Son. He gives grace upon grace. When we give, we do not diminish our supply; we open the channel for His abundance. You can never outgive Him because His resources are infinite and His love is unending.

God Is Able to Make All Grace Abound (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (NKJV)
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
9 As it is written:
“He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,
11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,
13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,
14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.
15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. He supplies seed to the sower and multiplies it. You are enriched for all liberality. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Giving Is Something People Don’t Like to Ask For

I’m sure giving is something people don’t like to ask for, and really people don’t want to learn. Oftentimes we don’t feel generous enough to give, but that is not God’s way. For God is Someone who loves to give blessings. He does not wait until we feel generous; He gives so that we may give. The cheerful giver is the one who trusts that God will make all grace abound.

Relief Sent to Judea (Acts 11:27-30)

Acts 11:27-30 (NKJV)
27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
29 Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.
30 This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

In the days of a coming famine, the disciples in Antioch determined, each according to his ability, to send relief to the brethren in Judea. They did not wait until they had excess; they gave according to ability. They sent it by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. Giving became the natural response of those who had received the grace of God.

Application: Give and Watch God Abound

Friend, you can never outgive God. He who sows bountifully reaps bountifully. God loves a cheerful giver, and He is able to make all grace abound toward you so that you always have all sufficiency for every good work. Do not wait until you feel generous enough. Give according to your ability, as the believers in Antioch did. Trust that the One who supplies seed to the sower will multiply what you sow. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift—and for the privilege of giving in return.

Amen.
